Construction
CJ Arenas will undertake and assist with the planning process for a nominal fee, this will be agreed prior to the commencement of any work.
Once the site has been decided upon and planning permission obtained, the task of preparing the ground will be started:
An essential part of any sand school riding arena is the drainage system, at the heart of the riding arena construction. The importance of getting this right is paramount.

Construction Schedule:
- Topsoil is removed from the arena area
- Foundations are dug out and the ground is prepared for drainage
- The drainage system is then laid in the ground and backfilled with clean stone
- A Geo-tex membrane is laid over the drainage system
- 4" of clean course stone is then laid over the arena area
- Post and rail fencing is now erected - half round or straight rails can be used depending on your preference, together with the kick boarding (which retains the riding surface)
- All timbers used are pressure-tanalised to give them maximum life
- A second Geo-tex membrane is laid, this time between the stone and the riding surface
- If required, the final rubber chipped surface is laid
